The style of Atticus Finch in a court of law has been acclaimed for it's ability to show the true events, to step in someone's skin, and walk around in it, and to see the case from every view. Lawyers from all around have found the style of argument Atticus uses is unique. There have been studies conducted on his principles. We have made a list of five rules which we believe are integral in the case Tom Robinson v Ewell.
The first rule is to listen, rather than watch to tell if someone is telling the truth. From TKAM, Scout said “Atticus sometimes said that one way to tell whether a witness was lying or telling the truth was to listen rather than watch” pg 219.
The second rule is that the jury will always be racist, so you must convince them of not being bias.

The fourth rule is use every tool available to you to save your defendant “Atticus had used every tool available to free men to save Tom Robinson.” pg 263
The fifth and final rule is don’t play all your cards at once “He rose to his feet and stood with his right hand on the back of his chair he looked oddly off balance, But it was not from the way he was standing his left arm was funny 12 inches shorter than his right, and hung dead at his side. It ended in a small shriveled hand, and from as far away from the balcony I could see that it was no use to him.” pg 211
