Home Services Report for family:  Ewell                                                                         Date of Evaluation:
Case No.: 111,11
“Hello, we are child protection services coming to you from the Ewell household in Maycomb county. It is currently 4:38 pm here in Maycomb and we are about to enter the house.” The gate opens and immediately broke and fell to the ground. “Ladies and gents it looks like we have a situation, were gonna need to hold off for a moment we will be back in five minutes, Im Ronald junior and this is Maycomb news.”
5 minutes later…
“Alright, we are back and ready to enter.”
They wiggled the knob and the door creaked open and slammed behind them.

PURPOSE FOR EVALUATION:

Mr Ewell was accused for raping mayella
ASSESSMENT PROCEDURES:
Walk through house the carefully inspect it.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Mr.Ewell has many children including mayella who he was accused of raping or hurting.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
To Start off, the house had a terrible stench. It smelled like rotten eggs and dirt. The floor had at least an inch of dirt. There were empty bottles all over the house. It was pitch black and it looked like there were only 3 cots but the Ewell’s have at least seven kids which means several of the kids have to sleep on the dirt covered floor. The kitchen was barely a kitchen just a fridge and small table.

OBSERVATIONS OF OCCUPANTS:
-Does mayella sleep with her dad?
-Does Mr.Ewell whip his kids?
-There no running water what do the kids drink?
-There was know food how do the kids eat?
-Where do the kids clean them selves if they do?
-does the house ever get cleaned?
-is it safe to live near a dump with children?

SUMMARY/RECOMMENDATIONS:

The house was filled with flies and rotten food such as some old apples and radishes which lined the floor. The wall was lined with belts...this was weird because mr Ewell only wore overalls which usually didn’t need belts…The fridge was empty...so was the pantry.
What were the belts for?
Did Ewell abuse the kids?
There is no cooling for foods and no running water. Electricity is out, there is not enough beds meaning several kids are sleeping together which is unsanitary. There are no showers baths etc. Rotten food may make black mold which is deadly. No sanitary needs for women or men as they grow up.

Please let me know if any additional information is needed concerning the results of this evaluation.
