Burris Ewell Deposition- Zach Kunin, Claire Bell

Court appointed Interviewer : Burris appeared to be “The filthiest human I had ever seen. His neck was gray. The back of his hands were rusty, and his fingernails were black deep into the quick.” Burris (Recorded testimony): My name is Burris Ewell and I swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help me god. On November 21, my big sister told us to get “ Gone to town to go get ice creams.” “S he [said] Took me a whole nickel to save seb’m nickles, but I done It.” It seemed a little bit weird to me that she would give us a treat. Knowing my older sistuh she would usually hog all da money to herself. I was a bit suspicious so I told her I would take all da kids to ice cream. Right after we cleared the fence I told my oldest brother George that  it was time he pulled his weight in our family, and that he should be in charge of takin’ dem kids to town for ice cream. Of course he quickly replied “Yes” (excited to finally be in charge), and immedia...

Atticus school of law, Liv Gooding, Madden Gillespie

Option #5   Atticus’ School of Law By: Liv Gooding and Madden Gillespie Option #5   Atticus’ School of Law By: Liv Gooding and Madden Gillespie Rule #1 Let your defendant set up the scene: “slowly but surely i began to see the pattern in atticus’s questions:from questions that mr. Gilmer did not see sufficiently relevant or immaterial to object to, Atticus was quietly building up before the jury a picture of the How Mr. Ewell set up the scene. Psychology report on Robert E Lee Ewell

We are psychologists evaluating Robert E. Lee Ewell. He has an interesting and complex report, so we will dive right in. Mr Ewell is a Father with an unknown age. He’s left handed, and he’s prone to anger outbursts, usually taking it out on the people around him. This shows that he is likely to have abused his daughter in one of his anger outbursts, and then forced her to make up the rape allegations. This is likely, because with a life like that of the Ewells, people are more prone to domestic violence with this kind of stressor on their life. In the environment that he was raised in, he would be given a hyper-masculine model to live by, and in this model domestic abuse by the male figure would be the norm. The environment he was raised in was also an environment of racial intolerance, as he has been known to call people “N***** lover”, which demonstrates that he has been raised with the idea that people of different ethnicities are lower than him. He also is known to talk throug...

Welcome to The Innocence Project Maycomb County

The purpose of the Innocence Project Maycomb County is to create articles supporting Atticus' defense of the fictional character Tom Robinson from the novel To Kill A Mockingbird.   Here you will find evidence and argumentation that will aim to prove the innocence of our client, Mr. Tom Robinson.  While Mr. Robinson is fictional, we are mindful that wrongful convictions are unfortunately part of our current legal and justice system today.
